Not to mention the draw system was entirely optional. You could sit there and draw 10,000 spells if you really wanted to, or you could draw the bare minimum. The quickest route was to have your magic draw while the others battled the distribute them out so you weren't drawing 1-2 with a fighter.
The level system in FF8 was excellent about this. If you spent time on the grind to level up, the enemies did so as well. If you felt like speeding through instead, the enemies st...
Not really a fan of early access for premium, but i picked it up anyway. It's actually a fantastic change of pace from the main game. Matches are extremely fast, for those who want a little counterstrike flavor occasionally
Good list, tho fatal frame and system shock 2 (spiders are EVIL) should be on there. I like that he acknowledged RE3: Nemesis.
It wasn't scary in the traditional sense, but the entire game was spent in absolute terror, wondering when Nemesis was going to appear. Running through that taking him down with a pistol every time was the most adrenaline-fueled gaming I've ever experienced.
All Skyrim needs is a more interesting combat system. Something more than swing(slowly), block, backpedal, repeat forever.
Now if you got Dark Souls combat + Skyrim's world? Sign me up. As it stands now I gotta agree with the article, the game gets boring after a while.
Didn't have too many issues in Londo myself, it was all Blighttown and even that could be avoided by turning the camera certain ways. All they needed was a draw distance limit, but it was an ambitious zone to begin with (you could see the top from the swamp).
Even with the drops it was just part of the challenge. I, one amongst many, really hopes they don't kill the series.
Agreed, Kefka is one of the few (only?) villains to seek to destroy the world, and actually succeed! He poisoned an entire castle just because he could. Evil to the core.
Wow...
Don't get me wrong I love Resident Evil, even as it's evolved from survival horror to survival action, but that article was pathetic. It was a (very) thinly veiled advertisement for the options available for download. They didn't even sort things just mentioned all that was available on PSN/XBL. Putting RE2 lower on the list than code veronica? Seriously?
A Dino Crisis remake would be awesome. Article says it should be like RE4 but honestly, DC2 already was in many ways. It was the first game I remember to remain fast paced and focus on the survival/adrenaline aspect instead of the scares. RE3 did a good job of this at points but still had a lot of puzzles.
I've played all the FF's from 1 to 12, even X-2 which had a great battle system, good enough to offset the dreadful story. I just don't understand the argument people keep making that "FF13 is a good game, it's just not up to FF standards"
No, it really isn't. It's a pathetic final fantasy and a horrid game. Run down this hallway, press x repeatedly, watch a cutscene while characters whine, then go look up definitions of wtf they're talki...
Yeah this is no surprise when the 360 is starved for exclusives. My decision to get a ps3 instead of a 360 was extremely simple because the exclusive lineup was utterly dominated by the ps. Not a Fable or Forza fan, Halo was outdated 10 years ago and Gears... well that's the only one I'd miss.
PS had dark souls, god of war, killzone, UC (2, couldn't stand the original) and a bunch of others I tried and didn't love, but at least had the chance to try. Didn'...
Yeah by his logic Resident Evil 2 was terribad because you could rush through it in barely 4 hours! He loses a ton of credibility for saying the combat of Bayonetta was better. That game had some depth to it if you wanted to explore, but could succeed equally well by spamming buttons (not that I didn't enjoy the game).
His criticism of the dodge system is laughable though. Oh no, I have to tap the right stick to dodge instead of holding a button AND pushing the left stick...
It didn't exactly fly under the radar, it was massively hyped as the savior of the platform and still maintains a ridiculously inflated score (88 on MC). UC1 was awful, boring, extraordinarily repetitive. It was basically shoot 50 random africans, jump a little, shoot 50 more ad nauseam. Totally belongs on this list.
UC2 thankfully fixed almost all the issues with the series. GoW3 though, yeah that doesn't belong. Good game that's just suddenly become cool to hate...
This chick must really hate me. I have an extra powerful gaming PC, 137 steam games (plus a shelf full of pre-steam ones), yet I'll take the time to configure xpadder to play a PC game on a ps3 controller.
Why? Sitting on a couch watching them on my HDTV beats sitting a desk (which I do at work all day).
