Is that true above, that Rockstar took the splitscreen multiplayer out of the PS3 version? Because I was really looking forward to that feature! If that feature exists it'd be reason enough for my purchase over the Xbox, and if not, then the fact I don't own an Xbox will persuade me PS3's direction. :P
Is this a successor to Ultimate Destruction? Or will it just be another Incredible flop on the gameplay radar like most superhero games (I'm looking at you Spiderman 3)?
Lots of the sports games support up to 7 people do they not? I'm kind of banking on Pro Evolution doing it. I own the game now but yesterday the unthinkable happened, my PS3 died... it stopped reading any format of disc and without opening the case there is no way I could fix it. Thank goodness for the warranty. But now I have to not play games during finals month here, though I guess that might just be Jesus watching out for my grades..
I believe it's "Whack"
Nice button pressing though.
Those damn little Patapons stole so much of my time. I haven't had that much fun playing a game in a looong time. Just a different satisfaction then COD4 or Uncharted... it's as good as some of the games that got me into videogames in the first place.
If you don't have it you're definitely missing out! It's a super fun game, and as the post above says, it's far more than just a button masher or some "quote" kiddie game "unquote" as I've heard around.
You play the psp versions? The files were indeed a proprietary format, in such that they were .mp3 files that you had to change the .mp3 on to .gta (or somewhat similar but it was a common encode).
This can be done by Rockstar or by Sony, though I'm thinking the in game soundtrack (usually pretty great) will tide me over until Sony releases their in-game XMB. It is supposed to be a month or two after this game comes out no?
Man, I've got a small collection of blu-rays now (20ish) and not one of them has cost me more than 20 dollars. They've been having sales at Amazon.ca and HMV nearly every week. Though I do suppose 5 dollars above the price of a DVD is too much for some people, I'd definatly pay more for HD.
This article is NOT talking about Blu-ray slowing down DVD's sales. It is talking about Blu-ray increasing the whole market sales. DVD sales have been down in recent years, and they're lumping Blu-ray into that category and still seeing a decrease. Can we try and look past the headlines and read the articles?
They speak of it not slowing down the already decreasing numbers (2% last year and a predicted 4-5% this year).
Double negative I know but it's what he's sa...
Weird, it worked on my IE.
I can't imagine how painstaking it would be to program each song on expert... almost as much work as learning how to play it. Seems quite useless to me... but from a "tech" perspective that's pretty damn neat.
Umm dude. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Silver mean you can't play games online? So how could you private chat through that?
Playstation allows that small function to work with video up to 6 people.
Or I guess it makes sense if you mean during single player games, but I pay my cell phone company enough to chat with anyone I want whenever I want and they don't need to be on my console.
I'm with a couple of the guys on here, as in, I don't real...
Ya, wow. I now understand how people get hand aches with the ps3 controller. If I try and put my index finger on L/R1 and middle on L/R2 then the controller does indeed feel far too small.
I move my index fingers around. Most games don't require millisecond switches between the shoulder buttons and their triggers. At least in my opinion (however I am not that good at COD4)
@Exodus...
He states in his paper how they could have done it.
"Fortunately spatial indexing structures such as k-d trees can be used to greatly reduce the number of intersection tests needed."
Then he goes on to say:
"I have not implemented any type of spatial indexing structure, so each ray is intersected with all the objects."
Thanks for the article though, that was a very neat read. Any more spe...
As do I GIJeff, but mostly GPS receiver programs and least squares adjustments. Can't say I know too much about optimizing for a certain system other than a GPS handheld :P.
I'd just like to know which people here I can actually listen to.
You know, I think that's a teensy bit hypocritical. Most people in here aren't bashing your beloved Halo, they're talking about how ANY videogames shouldn't be portrayed on ESPN.
I believe you should go right ahead and follow that pretty arrow you made.
ON TOPIC:
I'm not sure this really qualifies on my to watch list, but hey, if it's getting an audience then who am I to judge. Is a little weird though, I mean they have somewhere way above 100 matc...
Wow, man. Calm down.
It tells me that working from that side and optimizing the 360 code makes the game hard to port to the ps3. Whereas the other way around doesn't, I do believe Burnout suffers worse framerate issues on the 360 version no?
It's been this way everytime something new comes out, it's a learning curve.. we've all dealt with one some way or another.
I'd love to know how many of the people on here can actual program. It seems people are taking an odd stance on this whole "my console is more powerful" point.
From what I've picked up from developers the Ps3 is more powerful, it just takes a whole new concept (parallel programming) to make it so. So it does make common sense to use the console with the new architecture and then backport it to a system you've always known how to use, eliminating any chance that you've...
I really hope they don't pull what a lot of people have been saying here. Two 50 dollar price cuts in one summer and I'll have to admit that Sony is quite the evil company.
They would start everyone thinking that it will slowly get cheaper and cheaper so just wait and don't buy one. (At least John Q. Taxpayer would think so).
Anyone else getting sick of these lop-sided lists? It depends on which fan is putting them up but I've seen them with somewhere in the regions of 5 to 10 times the other consoles list. Does anyone have a complete list of both systems exclusive games?
I'd like to be able to compare them without the ridiculous amount of bias shown by this guy and the others on this site.
Well then I'm hosed Wageslave, cuz there is no way I'm downloading my high definition movies, I don't have near the internet bandwidth nor the storage capacity for them.
Exactly right McComber,
My career (Geomatics Engineering) deals with remote sensing and photogrammetry, it's a concept I've had to explain to a few people and I would like it if Sony figured out they have to educate people on blu-ray. Analog formats such as film are and always have been better then the new digital formats that we are using. Aerial photography is still largely done with film, and will be done so when serious resolution is needed.. as digital resolutions are lower...
