That only explains it if you assume that I would like every review that gets posted. I don't, but I do like this one. Tom Chick is awesome.
Awesome review. Glad to read something that doesn't copy-and-paste what someone else wrote.
Come on guys, are you seriously comparing Silent Hill 3 to games like Pac-Man and Final Fantasy VII?
Whenever someone points out that a game has aged poorly (translation: it wasn't actually that great to begin with), bums are quick to bring up legendary classics and say "THESE GAMES MUST SUCK NOW, TOO". At no point in time was Silent Hill 3 *ever* at Pac-Man's level -- not during the year of release, and not today.

I was disappointed when I played this the first time, but that's only because I compared it to the first. Played it again a few months back and now I realize it's so good.
This game sounds incredible.
Games sell most of their copies in the first two weeks. Even if someone played the FFXIV beta and used a week of vacation to essentially live in FFXIV's world for 15 hours every day, it's not fair to review the game after only seven days (100 hours) of play.
Square Enix deserves a fair chance to sell their unfinished product to millions of people. Square knows their game desperately needs patching. Pointing that out to prospective buyers is just cruel! People sh...
"...if you like the idea of playing as a half-cat half-human who goes on several dull adventures in the vain hope of eventually doing something important, you might just enjoy this game."
Way to go out on a limb there. The review itself was fine, but this excerpt from the conclusion is so wishy-washy!
This is not a Kinect game... will just be a regular XBLA release in 2011.
A couple people here talked about bridging the gap between movies and games... why the hell would we want that? Games have always been way ahead of movies when it comes to immersion and active experience. Why would we want to step backwards towards something passive? Are people tired of thinking and playing and being challenged?
Uncharted 2 is "too much movie" and not enough "game". Let these guys write a film, because Uncharted 2 really was pretty darn ...
this review was a nice effort, better than some that I've read. work on grammar and picking cooler-sounding examples
That's a user review... pretty much the same if someone submitted a GameFAQs or Gamespot user review as "news". So I doubt it's a publicity stunt, since the disclaimer at the top even says it's not an official site review.
It really shouldn't have been accepted as news, but I'm guessing no one noticed it was a user review.
Dumb headline, dumb article... the article bases its crazy statement all on graphics. I for one don't want my video games to become movies. Movies are forcefully-directed, two-hour episodes of zero interaction. I'm pretty sure Uncharted 2 will last more than two hours and will have a lot of interaction.
The pictures don't even compare the game to movies, it compares the game to real life. And it compares landscapes, not people. People is the hard part that has yet to be ma...
The review is entirely written in the past tense. So the writer may have eventually played PSO online -- he just didn't play it online back when it was popular. The current experience (I know of where you speak) is cool, but sadly isn't the same as during the Dreamcast's heyday. :(
