Most developers today couldn’t make an amazing 2D shooter if they tried. That’s why I just stick to the 8/16 bit era for 2D gaming.

Games win console wars not the hardware, perfect comment. It doesn’t matter how powerful the tech is without the software, yes when both go hand in hand it’s amazing. But without the system sellers the console just becomes an expensive paper weight.

The Mega CD and 32X had great tech just never fully exploited. Certainly not terrible, if Sega followed NEC with Quality 2D games like the PC Engine CD instead of the FMV route, things would of been different. I have said it many times before tech is nothing without quality games. But I also have some gems on my Mega CD:)
Hell yes !! I never left, hardcore is 2D gaming anyway not the easy story driven nonsense, most of the games today aren’t hardcore 😂😂
