I think the thing that appeals to a lot of people about this game is the whole exploration aspect. Games like Minecraft et al have proved that you don't really need a plot or purpose to be highly enjoyable. This is the main reason I'm excited for No Mans Sky, the relaxing nature of just exploring, for example, I'm super excited to finish a super long day at work or uni, get super high and play on this for the rest of the evening, it's my idea of bliss haha
