I think they determine quality when considering if the price is justified or not. A game could be crappy and 20 hrs long and still cost $15, but just because the playtime is longer, it doesnt justify the price. Just because Limbo was short, doesnt mean it didnt deserve the $15 price tag. I absolutely loved that game.
I bought Dead Nation today, havent played it yet though. Waiting for a friend to buy it and try it out this weekend.

Heavenly Sword was a great game, took a bit to get used to the camera, but great nonetheless. Im expecting this to also be fantastic.

I think Gamespot is pretty much spot on with this analysis. Sony played it safe, and stuck to what it knows best, and that's games. The 3D support was pushed really hard, and its hard to say if it will take, but to be honest I think it's a little too soon to try going full force with 3D.

The whole industry copies each other. I love my PS3 but godddamn, Sony did not invent the wheel. I've been gaming for 21 years and have seen many console redesigns, and just because the Xbox was made smaller, does not mean it blatantly ripped off Sony.
