Both are as likely as each other because S-E constantly kept saying that to develop a remake for FF7 would be a very hard job. And KH3 has been asked for by fans for a long time but FF7 even more.

About your last sentences to do with the control of one party member. Of course, we have yet to play it so we don't know if it's fun or not BUT in every single FF game till date, you had full control over party members.
THIS is a huge change in traditional final fantasy. I for one, love the old games and WISH that it would stick by the old school formula.

Baka-akaB, I don't really remember the older FF games being nonlinear at all. Unless the reviews are referring to that there is no actual world exploration. In past FF games you could go wherever you wanted to go. Not sure if this is what the reviewers are comparing. There weren't really any proper side quests in the FF games. Just really unexplored villiages and areas and people go to these places just to find hidden weapons/items or to train their party to level them up.

Man, bad reviews coming out for FF13. And it seems to particularly focus on the combat.
I was very sceptic of it from the beginning. I've always been a HUGE fan of the traditional command-based combat system where you choose "attack" then you see the character give an enemy a slash and return to his position. This is why I liked Lost Odyssey's combat. The thing that made me stop playing Lost Odyssey is its really crappy story.

But there is no hack and slash better than God of War series. GOW2 blew me way almost every minute. I like over-the-topic-action scenes which is why I like Bayonetta.

Actually Bungie I care. That's why I'm getting the PS3 version. It's more worth the money. It sucks that I'll miss out the achievements but I'll get over it.
