This is the only game where I have regretted going all digital. But then again maybe it is better for my fellow gamers out there that I couldn't resell this as someone else could have purchased it and felt he same pain that I now feel.

Having a sale isn't a unique concept so I think you are throwing around the copy term a little too loosely here.
But you should do some research if you think that Sony is the company with the innovations. There is a long list of ideas that Sony has copied from their competitors. I have this game on Xbox One and am almost finished with it and haven't noticed any screen tearing. Not sure where you get that from. I have seen a few framerate drops but they aren't huge drops and do not last long. Certainly still a good playable experience. You make it sound like it is terrible which is just dishonest.
People thought that because Palmer Lucky had originally said he was going to keep the price as close to $300 as he could. This is double that.
I am fine paying a little more but I'm not going to pay $600. Primarily because I already have 4 Xbox One controllers and an Elite. I have no use for another one and don't care about either bundled game. If they drop the extras I would pay $450 but I'm out with all of the bundled crap.
I agree that digital games should be cheaper than physical games. This would help drive digital sales. It is dishonest for them to say it isn't possible because you can buy digital books for cheaper than the hardcover version that is released on the same day. It is possible but they just won't do it.
How do you figure that the same couldn't happen on consoles? I know that there are 2 platforms (Microsoft and Sony) but the competition between them would drive the prices down. You can't tell me that if Microsoft had the same game on sale for $10 less on their digital store that Sony wouldn't match or beat it. They want to drive consumers to their platform and would compete against each other to do just that.
Steam can have the sales because they are a purely digital marketplace. They don't have a retail store footprint outside of selling gift cards rather than games themselves. Consoles could do this too if people would move away from physical discs.
If you read the article you would have noticed that he said it was because they had to appease the retailers for the physical game purchases. If everyone bought digital on consoles (I'm purely digital on consoles and PC) then they wouldn't be having to cater to both sides. You can't blame the digital option when people like yourself are the cause of it.
I agree that I think it is expensive as I was expecting it to be in teh $80 to $100 range. To play devil's advocate for a minute though I think you are only looking at the cost of the materials when looking at the price of the product. Sure it may only cost $30 to make but you also have to factor in the R&D costs as well as marketing. They have to make that money back as well.
If Xur's inventory was truly random the odds for him carrying the same item for several weeks in a row would be ridiculous but yet that is what we see. If Bungie isn't controlling it then I would say they don't have a clue as to how to code a random number generator.

My fear now is that they are going to tie it to facebook in such a way that you will have to link it to an account or push facebook ads in your face when doing gaming. I genuinely hate facebook and I can't help but feel that they are going to ruin the one thing that I was looking forward to.

BTW it isn't rumors about how much they spent on the controller. It is reported fact at this point and I don't really understand that decision either as the 360 controller was almost perfect.
I was very anti-Ryse from the information that I read about it but I decided to give it a shot. The gameplay is actually pretty good. It may be a little repetitive toward the end but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as people made it out to be.
Yeah but then again both video sources would be compressed by the same amount............so there still wouldn't be that much of a difference.
I find the light to be distracting at night and anything that can be done to improve the horrible battery life would be a win in my book. I know he said they don't draw much power but they do draw some and I'd like to have that back.
One comment on the side that I'd like to make that I'm sure will draw much wrath from the internet trolls is that I wish Sony would change some of this stuff that we are requesting or obviously complain about. At least Microsoft...
I agree that I think the main reason is that it is less expensive.
InTheLab mentioned sales statistics from the last gen showing Sony outselling Microsoft in less time which is true but it is somewhat flawed. Japan didn't support Microsoft and that is a large gaming region. PS3 lifetime sales in Japan is around 9 million while 360 is around 1.5 million. This region alone would have put Microsoft past Sony last gen if they were more equal.
This article was misleading as the author doesn't understand how the process works. Sony didn't bother with creating an emulator for BC this generation because it was too much trouble and they deemed it not worth the effort. Both Microsoft and Sony used PowerPc based architectures in the previous generation and Microsoft created and emulator to support BC. Next generation neither will have a leg up on the other in regards to BC as both are moving from x86 to x86 in their next platf...
