Destiny got "hate" because it clearly lacks depth in the way you experience the game because it barely gives you a story and repetitve missions that barely contain any memorable moments.
Its all about grinding and exploring in singleplayer and multiplayer. The gameplay, graphics, soundtrack and sound effects are all there and their great but it lacks essence.
Games are very interesting these days in my opinion i think the only problem is that the bigger games overshadow the little ones and ppl get mad over the internet because its not like those other big games and demand more.
DLC is diferent story tough i think that´s just taking advantage of the fans. The internet brought many good things and bad things as well.

I say Far Cry 5 needs to add up some science fiction into the mix like the classic Far Cry trilogy (the original classic,instincts and intincts evolution) where creatures like the predator play a big role in the game with survivor horror elements it could be great.
