My comment is based on roughly 20 hours of Diablo 3 beta experience as well as now owning it / playing it and roughly 40 hours beta experience in torchlight 2. i maxed all characters in the beta and my impressions are simply stemmed from this. but, in all seriousness don't take my word for it. T2 is a 20$ game on steam. drop some time into it and tell me which feels more like a true sequel to Diablo 2.

I stated this last year some time during an early preview of diablo 3. there was a lot of people worried about the hype involved and how some of the elements people truly loved in D2 were being cut from diablo 3. I'm quite confident that this is the reason diablo 3 is getting such mixed reviews. the people picking up and playing for the first time, it feels like a great game and in its own right is a great game. However it does not feel like a diablo game, and the die hard diablo 2 fans s...

I had about 15 hours logged into the diablo 3 beta (i decided not to buy it after this) and about 20 logged into the T2 beta. To this day Diablo 2 remains my all time favorite game. i had a lvl 90 smiter for torch farming, 92 trapsin, both with near perfect gear and charms. I only bring this up so you know how much i love games like this.

Diablo 3 in no way did it justice. it feels like a mix of WoW with Titan Quest, which in its own right is a great game, but in no way feels...

I just posted this on another story, it's simply my own personal opinion:

I've had extensive beta access to Diablo 3 (prior to launch), path of exile, and torchlight 2. Having been a die hard Diablo 2 fan, it's my opinion that Torchlight 2 best fills the void that quitting diablo 2 left.

I know where he's coming from. While i'm sure it will be a great game, but with it being so different from diablo 2, as a very hardcore fan of that game it is hard to commit. I will miss skill points, rune words, and stat points just to name a few changes. it's not hard to understand what he's feeling.

I've logged over a year of play time in Diablo 2...it's to date still installed on my desktop. I've been following both D3 and Torchlight 2 quite close as the action rpg genre is one of my favorites, however (as i thought they would) blizzard is not releasing a better version of Diablo 2, but instead a brand new game. I think this the cause of the concerns frankly, as half of the fanbase wanted a new, fresh game, while the other half truly wanted "Diablo 2.5" keeping ski...

it's easily an 8.5 or higher. The narrative is superb, the gameplay fun, the story compelling and the leveling addictive. This was a great game and i have no regrets in its purchase. Any Action RPG fans looking for something to hold them over should look into this.

I'm sorry man but you've missed a ton. I'm a multi-platform gamer (I own a Wii, a 360, an FC twin for my collection of old SNES games, a Dell XPS gaming laptop, and a self built Desktop gaming rig) and i have to say, i laugh at everyone who tells me there is nothing good on the Wii / post the SNES era. First and foremost Mario 64 was brilliant and lead into some other great games on the 64 - Mario Kart 64 , Killer instinct gold, Goldeneye just to name a few. Gamecube, sadly, i won...

at least for me. If its a game i know i can get good replay value out of, and the game itself is just a straight up good game, then i have no issues with it. However i will say i do have a tendency to rent a game before actually buying it to ensure i'll get my money out of it - if this practice becomes main stream i may have to forgo that practice. So far this game however has not let me down, and my friends and i have been having a ton of fun with it.

I'd be willing to check it out, hopefully we get some cross platform action happening.
