If you don't see the lag, then you aren't looking for it properly. Hit the analog stick to the left, it takes almost a good second before anything happens. Try shooting, it does the same thing. The argument that it reflects "realistic movement" might have some (flimsy) basis for walking, but even so it should not effect firing a weapon with equal tenacity.
