SPUs blast any DSP task: audio synthesis & codecs, physics, geometry codecs, motion detection, voice recognition, special effects, lighting, skinning, procedural texturing... all of which are becoming huge players in game dev but they all require math and physics knowledge that regular game coders are clueless about.
