Had the same but with Titanfall 2 bought on steam, but launched (which it did not) with the insanely annoying ea app.
I played it a bit, but it's one of those games I just forgot about. Same with the two worlds games, gothic 3 and Arcania: Gothic 4. It sounds and looks nice (for the time) but it just doesn't scratch that itch quite right.
I threw a couple tenners at Star Citizen for a starter pack during the time they promised Squadron 42 with it. All I want is for them to finish that singleplayer version, any multiplayer is just bonus to me for that money, but will it ever happen...
Same here, simply grew up and lost interest, but the nostalgia filter still hits for things like the old pokemon crystal.
I'd love to play it again, this time on pc though. Forever waiting on that pc port.
Still need to go back in and finish Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen. Was such a good time playing that game but just forgot to play it at some point.
Then there's people like me who bought a 360 (next to their ps3) from their paper route money, just to play games like fable.
Many things can be said about what people don't like about Fallout 76, but the community is amazing. So many high levels dropping stuff that new players are in need of without prompt.
Played all the pc versions, loved them all. Vice City will always take the top spot in my nostalgia filled eyes though. But gotta say IV gave me and my friend not a lot to work with open world sandbox like, but the main story and dlcs really stuck by me, very well done. Plus the attention to detail feels te best in IV.
Some worlds have felt too small, some have felt too large. It just depends on what you can do in the world. Give me a plane to fly and the world will feel small very fast. On the other hand, if every nook and cranny holds an interesting point or secret, you can quickly get overwhelmed. And the worst is if the map is big, but it turn into a damn walking simulator with nothing in between the points of interest.
In my eyes, the fable games did this quite well, although I do love a good open world game and would really like to see how/if the new fable can pull it off.
Some bullshit saying we as consumers should let them do anything. Our function is simply to consume and we either like it or not, which will be represented in their revenue. I just can't stand all the entitlement nowadays.
VR with a modlist while you're at it. Have it modded in vr and it was such a blast, altough I eventually went back to a modded list without vr, because to me vr is very fun, but still not beyond a gimmick instead of something for full playthroughs.
Spellbreak could have been one of the greats. The gameplay was fluid and a lot of fun. It had the cartoon look, which I don't mind, but a lot of older hardware doesn't mind either. First couple games/hours were amazing, some nice wins in spectacular magic combat.
But the problem for me was the diversity of the spells. Only 4 elements, 1 on each hand combinable. But we're talking about magic here, so many ideas about great spells everywhere. The lack of new optio...
They're better off making another gba game, selling it with a gba or something. It's like they are not even aware their recent games are like 3 generations behind others in terms of every aspect.
Damn a random mention of warhawk, that game was so fun! I really miss it. Pure multiplayer fun. Shooting hawks out of the sky with my tank was the best feeling ever, especially split screen with live reactions.
Damn I love Techland. Get that modding going!
Would be nice to use my old Logitech Driving Force GT on the games it was meant for again.
Edit: also do the newer ones have those extra things like getting a license and old amg in the rain on nurburgring etc? Loved those missions.
Often times we hear people moaning about not being able to make any decisions in their games... Well guess who's deciding what to loot and what not to loot all the time instead of just pressing loot all and not knowing what's useful out of the giant pile of looted garbage.
Never had a problem with monetization for anything that's purely cosmetic. If you want to look extra cool so badly, you must like the game to a point where it's worth the money to you. If not, you can still grind to get it in wow's case, maybe a slow progress but having that option is always a plus.
Now the moment someting that gives an edge in the gameplay is purchaseable, I'll understand the rage.
Edit: Also, a bit more on the middle sid...
