Managed to get hold of the Limited Edition this morning. One shop had not allocated a copy. Got it sitting on my desk beside me at work, as soon as we hit 5pm (4:14pm now) I'm outta here and home to enjoy it.
Just picked up my copy of MGS4 LE today, stuck at work with it sitting in a bag beside me :o(
Can't wait to get home!!!
In NZ we got the same edited version as Australia, and we got it a couple hours earlier. The only difference between with the NZ\AUS version is the removal of the video scene which involves a baseball bat and an individuals rear end, you get the idea. No other gameplay has changed, so I think we'll live without that particular image.
Nice to be finally playing it, it rocks!!!
It's 4pm in NZ and still getting the "unable to connect to server" message.
Hi Tidux, I'm from New Zealand.
It's 3:15pm on the 25th here in NZ and it's not online here as yet. Hopefully soon...
Patch 1.02 is definitely back up, just downloaded it in around 5mins. Now all we need is for Metal Gear to be Online :o)
Finally all done, including the confirmation email. Lost track of the number of attempts using my other browser, before using Firefox and the Autoform plugin, if any of you haven't tried it, I would recommend it. Now to relax and look forward to MGO.
Can't wait to download this, stuck at work at the moment. Soon as I'm home I'll be downloading MGO and Broken Mirror.
Yes it does affect New Zealand as well. Rockstar have decided NZ can get the Australian edited version as well, despite our classifiction system being able to go to R18 for the full un-edited version.
I contacted "The Gamesman" here in New Zealand, and according to them, the version we will be receiving will be the uncut edition carrying the R18 rating.
Same info is also appearing in the New Zealand Site http://www.nz.playstation.c...
At the end of the day it's good for the consumer, hopefully they'll put back the "backward compatibility" software as alot of current Playstation owners have a good PS2\PS1 library and would like to keep it. I'm lucky, got the PS3 60 Gig so have the compatibility and have upgraded it to 320 Gig, so shouldn't have space issues for awhile (hopefully :o) ).
Here in NZ we tend to fall in to the EU category for game releases. If you compare the PSN stores they're virtually identical and our game release dates tend to follow them as well.
*sigh* indeed. Ubisoft must have supreme confidence in this game being able to compete with the likes of GTA4, MGS4, etc. I understand that they want to boost sales for the next financial year, but it may backfire very badly on them.
I've been using my DualShock 3's for awhile now and found the life to be very similar to the original ones.
You don't need to worry, it has both the motion sensing and the rumble.
I used WMP11 for streaming XVID files to the PS3 and have not had any issues (as yet). Interested to know how they are running their testing.
Just downloaded 2.4, now downloading the patch for SSHD then see if I can manage at least 1 trophy :o)
