Must say that i am really impressed with these images here. If they are truly ingame, than this is one of the best graphics i have seen on the ps3 so far.
This is really good graphics, better than most other games. So you must have had very unrealistic expectations.

Judging from the 200 or so comments on this article I would say otherwise.
I would have much rather preferred that Sony gave the PS3 more ram and a stronger gpu instead of investing in blu ray. That way, they would have a more powerful console AND it would cost the same as now.
The downside would be no blu ray support and the machine would have to use standard dvd format, meaning switching discs on bigger games for example.
But the graphics would still be much better than the 360 on multiplatform titles, and the higher pricetag could then be better jus...
All the art put into this game, all the little touches and details. And all of that on such a large scope, in such a a big richly detailed city. Which have taken countless work hours from the developers and much hard, hard work.
Great characters and a script of high quality, compared to 90% of other games, and a very entertaining and rich multiplayer experience.

GTA 4 is a great game. Pop ups cant be helped because of the current gens technical limitations. This is a SANDBOX game, and the game engine has to run relatively smoothly despite countless unforseen stuff that can happen on screen in such a genre.
Visual compromises are thus unavoidable, deal with it. You should not act so spoiled.

Maybe it is because there is so sunny here right now and that obscures the screen. But these videos with the exception of the third one, didn't blow me away.
The explosions seemed mediocre and the textures on dragons, enemies and some of the landscape was not very high res in my opinion.
