I have played the Wii U FAR MORE than I have my ps4. From Day one, The Wii U has had better games than the ps4. One good Nintendo game = 10 PS4 games. The games on the ps4 are so bland.
I play the hell out of my ps3 though. So many great games, including rpgs.

For one if you break your game pad you are in deep trouble. I don't even know how to begin to replace one, but I know it's pretty expensive. Not to mention you cant play your system until the broken one is replaced. One would think you could just use a controller. IF you want to play ANY of the older console games they have up for sale, you need to but the controllers that match the time period. Well, at least that was the case when you switched to the Wii...
I love the Wii U as well. The fact of the matter is that the Wii U has better games than the ps4 and XBOX one combined. But what is killing the Wii U is all the extra peripheral crap you have to buy just to play certain games.
I don't need the gamepad. The gamepad is not what differs the Wiiu from everything else, it is the games. Don't get me wrong, I love the gamepad though. BUt I don't like how we have to have it in order to use the WiiU. If I drop the gamepad I go to pay an extraordinary amount of cash just to play the Wiiu.

The WiiU is a about awesome games. I love the fact I can go back and play old games from their older systems I never played as well. Sony has this too. I am playing Tales of Symphonia chronicles and loving it.
