@Regent and Arnagrim
To me it sounds like you guys have been raped one too many times in halo. Guarantee you that an mlg player at halo could beat you both plus 2 of your friends all at the same time. Even if you both played halo moderately for like 2 years he would take you both on at the same time no problem.
I would love to watch you two play eachother in halo on mlg settings, it would take 20 BR shots from either of you to even get the other guys shields down.
Now...
This is going to sound pretty narrow minded. Its because they are weirdos and they associate themselves sexually with a video game character or want to act like a women. They are the stalker/pedo types in real life, but not that extreme. Anybody that denies it, is prob trying to convince themselves its not true.
Also i think the fact that ESO not being like the tradition ES games is seriously overshadowing the positive things its doing(in terms of being an mmo). As long as they keep making the SP games i wont care.
I honestly think its because they chose the hero engine back in 2007 and it isn't capable of doing First person or real time. Sure if they chose a dif engine they might be able to make a switch. But yeah costs and dev time would of been through the roof if Zeni Max wanted to make this like the SP ES games.
Honestly I don't think you have to believe anything. All i'm trying to say is, that from what i have read, as an mmo, ESO seems to have some things going for it. Now weather you believe them or not, that's your choice. I however will try to stay positive. Since this is a completely new company, ill wait till i have something concrete to pass judgement.
So basically you just don't believe what the devs are saying about ES online is true? Or at least until we see more of it? Honestly idk if its true either but from what i have read(which is all the info anybody has right now), it looks like they are changing it up quite a bit. Now weather or not Zeni Max online delivers, well we will just have to wait and see.
ES online is def a completely dif genre than the normal single player ES games. It doesn't have first person real time combat and it doesn't let players be sort of all the classes at once. But that doesn't mean that its a bad or same old run of the mill mmo either.
ES online is def moving away from the wow formula by quite a bit. From the looks of it, its going to combine the best parts of Guild Wars 2, radiant or event questing, more action oriented combat(with the additi...
@Perjoss
Nobody ever said that Bethesda games studios was going to stop making single player ES games. ES online takes place 1000 years b4 Skyrim. BGS can still move the ES sp games forward without either game effecting eachother.
Wow is a great game and does almost everything right within its formula. I highly doubt ES online will kill wow, its fan base is way too high and alot of people don't want to quit and see their past achievements and for some, 7 year old characters fade away. I am however pretty excited for ES online and will def give it a try and stick with it if they do everything right.
To be fair Bioware did alot of things wrong with SWTOR. ES online is doing Some different things.
For the record DCUO had one server for ps3 last time i played about 2 months ago. That can't possibly be that many ppl.
Cows get milked.
I guess technically sheep can be milked too.
Fair enough.
I doubt you read the game informer leak because if you did you would know that not having real time combat, is prob the only main thing that's generic about ES online.
bah i was about to say they same thing damn you! yes i think it is.
This happens 1000 years b4 Skryim. Read much?
Actually this game breaks out of the traditional mmo class style with no set healers tanks or dps. All the classes in the game can rely on themselves to stay alive and they are also moving away from the aggro mechanic. Actually besides from some of the combat mechanics this game is moving pretty far away from the traditional mmo. Read the pages in the game informer mag it explains it all.
I too am not completely sold yet, not even close. I actually had a very negative opinion of it this morning when i first read about it. I am a long long long time ES fan and this worries the hell out of me. But after reading this article my mind is a little at ease. No the combat is not like ES, sadly, i love the ES combat it fits with the single player experience perfectly(for me any ways), but translating that combat into an mmo would't fit at all, I mean really who thinks that 2 ppl ru...
After reading the article a little more i have not lost all hope yet. It seems like yes the combat will be alot like other mmos which in ES case that might be a good thing since ES combat wouldn't translate all that well into an mmo. It seems like they are taking some good things from both swtor(fully voiced, Player decision, story). And The upcoming GW2( World events and radiant quests) as well as staying true to the ES franchise by having random caves to explore and Guilds. My very pola...
Activision has 2 complete Juggernauts in COD and WOW i'm pretty sure they will never not make a profit with those 2, all the other games they publish are bonuses lol.
