finbars you obviously have no idea how the VGAs work just like most of the ppl on this site who think they aren't legit. They have a panel of judges that consist of top people at major video game publications vote on the game. Yes they do have a thing on their site that has normal ppl vote on GOTY and such but it doesn't count towards anything and is relevantly pointless. And to what kramun said yes even with bugs skyrim to me is still the best game this year by a long shot. Killerhog...
I love that Skyrim won GOTY its my favorite game ever made lol. Over 150 hours in and i only had one bug where a giant hit me hundreds of feet into the air. So what the game is so much larger and ambitious than all of the other GOTY contenders that bugs are super hard to catch. I like that the developers at Bethesda still make games that they love to make and they know fans of the series will love. Because you can tell everything about this game after a 1min trailer right? Look at a game like portal. It started off by having a sort of stylized world that didn't have much of a story but had amazing game mechanics. Then look at what they did with Portal 2 it was pretty epic and story driven and kept all the great gameplay.

Exactly! Other than The ND name appearing at the beginning there was nothing special about this trailer not sure why ppl are freaking out. I mean i hope its good but the trailer wasn't all that awesome.

looks decent and its made by naughty dog which is awesome but seriously another freaking zombie game good god. I kinda wish it wasn't ND making this because i would rather have their focus on something other than another zombie game. my 2 cents!

I would rather play something like minecraft with a much bigger budget.
The gunfights just become really drawn out and boring after a while. It just becomes very shooting gallery esque. The melee was alot better in this one too but wasn't really anything special just hit buttons when they pop up on screen. But its still overall an excellent game because they mix it up alot and have good set pieces.
well the combat in Uncharted isn't anything to write home about either lol(still all around amazing game tho). Idk why comparing 3 completely different games is relevant at all. But i do agree with the fact that if (hypothetically) a publisher/developer other than Nintendo developed a game exactly like Skyward Sword with the same gameplay and same story but had you playing a character that wasn't link and had you saving some one that wasn't Zelda it would struggle to get 7s and 8s...

I think going back to morrowind after the red mountain eruption would be sick lol. I think morrowind lost alot of its landmass when that happened so it could be a smaller zone, or atleast smaller than a full game sized zone that the main games take place in.
The elder scrolls series is buggy and glitchy because of the fact that the games are so huge and ambitious. Its easy to bug test an on rails game like Gears 3 or Uncharted 3 because the developers know exactly what the player is going to be doing at all times. A game like Skyrim has an exponentially larger amount of data to keep track of then every other game on that list. Oh and i'm over 150 hours in on the 360 version and ran into one glitch where a giant knocked me into the air hundred...
Metacritic isn't useless it gives an honest score of a game based on significant publications scores. The thing that is useless are the people that cant tell the difference between platform/genre relevance to a score. No sh*t pacman and wii sports aren't the best games ever made but they get a good score on metacritic because they are good at doing what they do. Wii sports is a very well made family fun game made for the wii and is being reviewed as such.
If only the kinect was a $200 webcam that would make sense. Way to downplay the sh*t out of it. This sh*t right here is cool regardless of what hardware/software it uses stop stealth trolling so hard. Its the combination of both voice controlled and motion controlled mechanics that make this pretty amazing.
Oh please all those titles don't even have a fraction of Skyrims sheer scope and ambition. No sh** they don't have 1/3 of the bugs when all those games combined have 1/10 of the content and amount of things going on at once.
