Sakurai already said he will never make a game like Melee ever again. I dont know why there is even hype for a next smash bros game. Its gonna be garbage it terms of competitiveness.
Its gonna be fun though, but eventually get boring due to lack of deepness and 'on to the next game' just like every game. I dont see the point in 2-3 more years of hype for a total of 2-3 months of playtime on the casual game.
Yes, they are falling behind. Nintendo HD will steal many of the HD-only guys , as well as keep their casuals. Look at the 3DS, people thought "next generation, new battle" ..nope. Ds and 3DS dominate in sells once again. Just like Wii U will dominate in sells. Obviously the HD will not be as pretty as PS4/xbox 3 but sells wise.
