How is this an "in-depth" review? Looks to me like he barely skimmed over all aspects.
Did you even watch blow by blows? It tears the movie apart, and it's funny as hell, I don't see why anyone would be against some good entertainment. It's not a news segment, time doesn't matter at all here because a show is timeless really. I didn't see anyone else post this yet so it doesn't hurt to have a laugh or two. People are allowed to have opinions on retro movies no matter how old it is, it's a stain on video game based movies that anyone can learn a thing...
Modern Combat Domination certainly is fun for a couple of hours, however it certainly IS NOT a poor mans Call of Duty, the game is clearly based on Counter Strike, hence why it does not have a campaign mode, and uses money to buy weapons each respawn. I am disgusted by the fact that everyone uses Modern Warfare as an argument for Modern Combat, as if they only see the whats on the surface instead of the gameplay mechanics that drive the game. Not a single mention of Counter Strike in that rev...
You obviously didn't read the article, Disgaea is mentioned at the very end. This isn't a definitive list, it was stated that there are more out there and covering all of them would probably make the list up to 100 entries long.
The article does say that this isn't a definitive list, but instead just some of the many out there, and obviously it tried to focus on some of the less popular and downloadable games without platinums. However I found Demons Souls to have a pretty easy platinum, I got it in just 80 hours, which was even less than what it took me for Yakuza 3. As for Dark Souls, I have yet to play that one. If you play with spells and bows, the game was pretty easy to beat.
You got your R2 estimation a bit wrong, 10 days of 1,000 kills means you would need to play for 100 days to reach 10,000 kills, and that's more than 3 months of regular play. They way the article puts it, for 30 days (playtime) you would need 3,333 kills in 10 days, not 1,000, so yeah you were only three times below that.
As for Dead Space 2, yes that certainly is a fun, challenging and relatively easy trophy, however dieing in a cheap quick time event after all that caut...
All of us "learned the ropes" with hard ass games back in the day and we had no problem with it, the best way to learn is through fail and personal experience. A game explaining everything and holding your hand throughout the entire experience so you can just breeze through it wont make anyone learn anything, except for maybe thinking that everything in life should just be chewed by someone else before it being handed to you. If you want children to learn anything, then harder games...
