Something about an 87 average after 83+ reviews tells me the game is good, it clearly does a lot more right than wrong, and you don't need to worry about it's quality. In terms of sales: it doesn't take a genius to know that sales are crucial to it's future success as a franchise. So yes, I care about how many copies it sells as that affects future entries.
