If it wasn't for the fact that Deslin (Is it Deslin?) is clearly in his late teens or at least an adult and the story is set 7 years after the RFI/Beast endings, I would be tempted to day he was born with the conduit gene after they were all killed. Maybe he was grown in a test tube or something...? (Yes i know that bit is unlikely). If Sucker Punch had put a bigger gap like.. I dunno... 20 years, then he could have been born with the gene. It may have said all living conduits were killed...
