I've been waiting since I was wee for the ability to trash anything I see.
We're loyal, even a decade into the failboat ride (longer for the 16-bit kids.) Stupid, but loyal.
Heh, I said exactly what you said. I think you were reading someone else's complaint.
I'm sorry. How the hell did we get "scammed" by Valve? They put forth a pretty straightforward offer: if you wanted to see Portal 2 released a little bit early, support these worthwhile, hard-working indie devs, and they'd oblige. But you had to support and play ALL of the games.
Notice many but not all of the games reached their quotas for player participation. You didn't meet the requirement, so this isn't trolling. And honest to fuck, how can...
Bach was better about how he phrased the statement this time than he's been in the past, but I'm not sure if they can claw their way back from being labeled trash talkers.
If they even want to.
And THQ just canned a bunch of people at Volition, so their track record is spotless.
@CT03 Man, you really stuck it to us, semantically speaking. Congratulations!
Yes. A thousand times yes.
Seems like they've backed themselves into a corner. I give them two days to figure out a ploy to save face and escape out the back door.
@Pixelated_Army Part of me agrees with you. But the other part--the side that's worked in retail--knows that those guys get paid so little, half of them are on the verge of quitting everyday anyway.
When I was selling games at a different store, I wasn't getting commission for anything outside of pushing credit cards, so I was happy to tell unwitting buyers what games were worthwhile and which were complete crap. The GS lackeys I've known have done the same.
Agreed. That and Valve has customer loyalty in the palm of its hand with Steam; GameStop as an explicit retailer will never be able to win over that kind of audience.
Quantic Dream's biggest hit before Heavy Rain was Fahrenheit (a.k.a. Indigo Prophecy) on--wait for it--PC and Xbox. ZING.
Earbus wins quote of the thread.
Actually, in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. Dead Space is only big because everyone else abandoned the genre.
The report from several days ago said "fall," not 2012.
Probably. They're saying that the Euro version(s) of the game(s) has been standardized for all regions in the collection. Slightly different ending to SotC on the continent, I believe--or was it Ico? Either way, suggests Japan might not be singled out for awesome this time.
Realistically, it's not intended to be practical for several years. You'll remember that Sony doesn't plan for a PS4 until about 2015. Hardware capabilities on all platforms will have advanced enough to make it feasible for people who don't have trust funds.
Mark Rein called it "Unreal 3.975." Don't split hairs. =P
Real-time, physics engine footage. No CG. This is a scripted event within the Unreal 3 engine itself.
Getting to belt the Ancelotti skank in the skull when she mouthed off was almost gratifying.
