I don't mind a big map in an open-world game, especially one that is meant to represent a city and its surroundings, including all its workings. But I also loved what Eidos-Montréal did with Deus Ex Mankind Divided, focusing instead on a small part of a city and letting you explore every nook and cranny.
Tarkov 2.0?
Gamer entitlement aside, if they don't want the pressure of fan pressure, do not announce too early. Take a call from Resident Evil's book. Announce when you have a release date.
Well if this is legit, and the gameplay loops hold up and combat doesn't turn into a bullet sponge fest, then all those early, pessimistic naysayers will soon have to enjoy a big plate of humble pie.
I'm confident whatever Naught Dog could cook up for Part 3 would stand the test of time, but personally, I'm also happy with ending the series as is.
But for real though, officially announce the cancellation, or finish Factions 2 already!
EDIT: Let TLOU live on at HBO as long as it's still being overseen with creative input from ND.
PS6 is the console Sony should've launched with.
I like CD Projekt Red, like A LOT. But this isn't really a win. This is 125million they should have spent before the initial release.
EDIT: Also, that 125 million most likely also includes marketing which would chew up at least half of that number.
Well they certainly had their struggles with Factions, and the general consensus is that the remakes of Part 1 and 2 are nice, but most people would rather see them spending that time on a new IP, Factions or Part 3.
However, ND usually come out swinging at the end of the console cycle so expect their new IP/Part 3 somewhere in 2027/2028.
Yes. Tak. Ja. Da. Si. Ano. Hěi. Oui. Kyllä. ʻAe. Igen. Na'am. Etiam. Chı̀. Yebo.
Sounds to me like after Jim Ryan announcing his retirement ND now have a bit more control to change the direction of the game, which is why the Principal Designer has left (who's only been there a year by the way), and so now ND are moving away from the extensive Gaas model that Sony have been leaning on them to implement, and are now going back to something of a more standard MP route.
Factions 2 is still coming.
Besides no updates on Factions, this is the first massive disappointment of 2023 for me.
Justified jubilation or not, it's always a bad look when even the fans of a brand are cheering the departure of the CEO.
Better.
From the reputable playstationcentral.com website.... wait a sec...
TRANSLATION: For the most part it'll be a mediocre show so temper your expectations.

The Witcher 3 is more than likely the greatest game of the century (which is obviously debatable), but hands down no game has affected me as much as TLOU did and it's still my favourite game of all time.
I'd say that's the least of their problems.
I'm actually looking forward to this. It means Sony will now have to buckle down and create a rival to COD so they have something solid for the PlayStation in ten years time... And though they may not ever beat COD, they can certainly rival it and help tear down the monopoly that COD holds over the FPS genre.
Looks fun.
