At about 60 hours in, my game was decimated by bugs to the point that I can’t progress. When I talk to people there are no options to select and I can’t answer the phone. There’s no way in hell I’m starting over. This game can suck it.
Blood Omen was the first video game that had top tier voice acting that I know of. I still remember how blown away I was watching the intro. That first “Vae Victis!” was instantly seared into my memory. I’ve been hoping for a remake for years.

My 40 hour game save that I started with the next gen patch is still bugged to the point of unplayable on PS5. I can’t answer incoming calls and can’t choose or select dialogue when interacting with people. From what I experienced, the longer I played the more bugs started popping up. It was like the game was slowly killing itself until I finally couldn’t progress any further.
It goes well with the new mission statement that came out along side of it. Apparently this month is when they institute wokeness into their company.
At 30 hours in the weather is stuck in a sandstorm all over the map and Silverhand and V’s audio suddenly became so muffled I can barely hear it. While the performance is WAY better there are still issues that completely kill the enjoyment of the game. Apparently I have to uninstall it for another year in order to play it without massive technical issues.
Michael Moorcock has been the inspiration, sometimes closer to plagiarism ( I’m looking at you Witcher) of so many movies and video games. I hope someday I can see his actual work represented in a film or game.

The monetization is enough to make me not want to pay a dime to 343 ever again. Just as bad, if not worse than Ubisoft with Assassins Creed. If this is Microsoft’s future direction with first party, they can kiss my ass.

I think there’s a separation to make here. Are there toxic a-holes? Yes, of course but devs and media outlets lump in legit criticism and concerns from fans into the same pile constantly and a lot of times it’s these people that get dumped on by the devs, other fans and media way harder than the other. I think the main take away isn’t “Gamers are toxic”, I think it’s more a matter of people can be a-holes, let’s try not to perpetuate it, disengage and move on.
