Didn’t click because Polygon is a wet hot turd but I picked up Astro Bot because of all the high reviews. It’s definitely worth the price if you like platformers. I’d put it on Mario level game design. Totally worth a buy if you have VR.
Stop being retarded. Replace VR with mobile game and you might have something.
The material packs are way worse than the xp boost.
Funny you should bring up Doom. Here’s some super sweet gameplay highlights from the “gamers” over at Polygon. https://youtu.be/d3pQ0oO_cD...
Polygon is cancer
Umm, HELLO! Only Asians can be really good at kung fu! To say otherwise is not only racist but misogynistic and fascist....and probably islamaphobic as well! (Woke level: 100)
I’ve had many instances of the game hanging as it loads in new areas, 3 times that the game went into 1 FPS stutter mode and one time it completely locked up. The frame drops seemed to be from a large amount of enemy’s. They need to optimize the Pro version a little better.
“Microtransactions give players like me, that don’t have time to play games, a welcome choice” -Polygon
Ahh, I wouldn’t expect anymore from the “gamer/journalists” at Polygon where playing is literally your job.
There’s some great new ideas and concepts in the game but there’s also quite a few things, gameplay wise, that are completely infuriating. At about 20 hours in, I’m starting to sour on the game. Its like the game wants to force you out of stealth and into combat but punishes you once in combat by swarming you with enemies that take you out quite easily. Couple that with long load times and underwhelming rewards for high risk difficulty and it has just lead me shut the game down and stop playi...
I think the devs response is what pissed people off enough to cause the mass review blast. First you make your tactical historical game take a present day sociopolitical stand then, a few months later, tell them to get bent if they don’t like it. It would be obsurd to think that you wouldn’t get a reaction.
A huge portion of people that play those games are into the historical accuracy of the settings. They want to escape to that time period but are pulled out of the immersion back to 2018 with yet another rewrite of history. Add onto that the dev telling their customers “If you don’t like it, don’t play it”, I can see why they’re pissed.
This debate seems to mostly be prevalent with “journalists”. I don’t know any gamers or casual gamers that care about cross play. It just serves to show how out of touch a lot of these sites are with the people that actually play the f’in games.
I’ve finished both and can easily say they’re both great games.
@badz149
Yeah, I hear ya. I just got so pissed when I went to back up my saves and discovered I couldn’t. You know what though? When I’m playing Tomb Raider, Soul Caliber, Assassin’s Creed and Red Dead 2, I’ll be happy as hell knowing they didn’t touch my bank account.
You are aware that there’s no way to back up your save files besides paying a monthly fee for the cloud feature, right?
Disingenuous? #1 There’s absolutely no reason for Nintendo to have prevented me from backing up my save on the SD card. Well, no reason but one. To force me to pay them for their garbage monthly online service in order to do what every single system since PS f-ing one has been, not only standard but a complete given. #2 You think that I’m going to pay monthly for a f-ng save game storage unit when I don’t even have the system?
You’re a blind follower of a corporation. Think about how...
My plan was to sell my Switch to pay for all the games coming out this fall and buy another one once some first party games release. After realizing they wouldn’t let me back up my 120+ hour Xenoblade save and all my progress will just be lost I won’t even buy it again. Sold it yesterday.
Remember when Rs were the busybodys trying to police speech and content? What was great about those days was that most companies blew em off. Speaking of blowing things off, can we talk about the actual article now?
Well, f’n duh. Switch barely has any games and nothing’s on the horizon. I’m actually thinking I might sell mine to pay for all the games coming out the next couple months.
One of the most known corrupt politicians in US history yet still, blindly, beloved. Go figure.
