The AllStars Beta is already out but is in closed beta, it will be public some time this fall and PS+ members get in a little early, it's already availabale as + material in Hong Kong.
OP got most of his research right, one thing to point out is that each character has it's own meter (example parappa needs less energy to perform his instant 3 kill super than kratos's level 3) that means it is balanced. Another thing is for competetive play im 100% sure that you won't see level 3 supers but a lot of level 1 and 2. Cause they are cheaper and in the right hands a level 2 can also get you 3 kills for half the meter of parappas level 3.
Im sorry to say this but, no it's not something new, it's old. Pc games have had free dlc for over a decade(look at tf2) what activision is during is just pathetic, the map packs is so overpriced, it's actully weird, Activision giving free stuff away? Twice!?! But new, no.

well, my cousin, age 9, really loves skylanders he already has 36 pieces of content, so they are doing there marketing right. I just think it's a cheap way to get money really.
Awesome, Might pick it up, I enjoyed black ops way more than any other cod on PC, im not toally convinced yet.

I don't think you can take the current UI for anything, it's pre-alpha, it's usual how game demos are, another example is the Crash Team Racing demo on the Spyro 2 disc, you could only play 2 characters, yet in the final product you could play 15+ (CTR was the only thing I could think of on top of my head)
well the goal for All Stars is not to be an E-sports fighter that you play together with your steel-chewing bodies, it's meant to be a party game, a game that everyone can pick up and have fun with, regardles of skill level and bring back good memories from beloved IP's
not true at all, Poor sales = companies cutting cornors (using less money on known IP's, that comapnies know will sell) = less value for gamers

@Mttrackmaster38 exactly, I played Crysis 1 like a month or so before Crysis 2, and the AI in that game was horrible, worse than Crysis 2 IMO. I know I'll get a lot of diagrees but what ever, Crysis one is one of the most beautiful games ever created and it wasn't a typical linear shooter, but the AI and story wasn't. Crysis 2 improved on that side, but was extremly linear.
finally got the confirmation, it's this gen consoles, not that I really care, gonna pick it up for PC anways, but this could be interesting, can other people join, without the host knowing it? like the 2 players in the demo they showed? Im really looking forward to this game :D
Valve does not see the Dota 2 Beta, as a beta, all items you buy in the in-game shop WILL continue over in the real game when it launches,same goes for your stats. Dota 2 will be F2P so you can see this as a one-stop payment and get into the game already. I wouldn't call it paying for Beta, call it paying for Dota2.

I just think there needs to be a lot more 3D optimization in games in order for it to be a good in 3D. Crysis 2 was fantastic IMO in 3D on the PC. But there is a lot of titles that really does not look good in 3D, but it seems like Nvidia sells a lot of 3D products, atleast they state so, I can't wait to see what the future brings in 3D gaming :)
