They're calling it an RPG, from the gameplay it seems it will be an action-RPG. So somewhat of a Mass Effect type game. Though it seems, also judging from the gameplay, that it'll be a little more hack and slash than Mass Effect.
Microsoft is about the money, thats how Microsoft is. They'll get blu-ray on their console eventually.
Expensive? their like 130 now. I still think i'll pick up an HD-DVD player cause they're probably going to be going for 50 here soon enough
Really no point to support HD-DVD any more though, if the inventors have given up on the format it's dead. Plus the fact that if both formats would be supported it would just increase the cost of the machine which isn't something the company or the consumers are interested in doing. You may say what about the ones who have HD-DVD's, well if they have the HD-DVD's it's a safe bet that they have a player for it already.
GTA IV? With so little known about this game and the release date well over 2 1/2 months away from January you really think it's driving sales already? If you say that about March and April sales that would be understandable but this seems to be a bit of a stretch to think that people would get a major purchase so far in advance for almost any game.
Especially once you consider that the GTA IV release date wasn't announced till about two thirds of the way through January.
With Sony selling consoles like mad this past month why is that they still can't get more than one title in the top ten. Granted 360's install base is still ahead of PS3's but I really feel that part of this influx of PS3's being sold has to do with the fact that Blu-ray is everything but the official winner of the HD format. Though Microsoft screaming shortages seems a bit of a stretch.
I'm not trying to take anything away from Sony but to outsell the projections by nearly 30% ...

Look at the charts he's provided. He is correct. Until Ble-ray makes the jump to 3x or 4x DVD is faster. Not their min. speed but their max. is. Come on guys comments are going to start going bye bye unless you can get links to argue with the only guy who has provided proof of the speed.
I would also like to see a higher degree of difficulty on Insane. While it was tough, most of it i really didn't need to ever do twice except for the ending.
Upscaling a dvd isn't going to look as nice, what's the point of getting a blu-ray player? I can just buy whats on blu-ray on DVD then. What because in 3-5 years DVD will be gone and all will be left is Blu-ray. By then i doubt i'll bother buying dvds and just get them online. I already have half a TB with plans of getting more space so having HD movies on my HDD isn't a big deal and then all you need is a way to get it from the HDD to the tv which isn't hard either.
Everyone complains about and yes sure it may be dieing but there are a lot of good movies out for HD-DVD and if a player costs the same as 3-4 movies then it's really not that bad.
After doing a quick online search heres a list of movies i would get for it that would in the long run not bad to have in HD and would be great not to wait for them to come on blu-ray, yes some may be on blu-ray already though too.

It went through a lot of stages before Microsoft got Bungie, it had an RTS feel, had a 3rd person feel, and shortly before Microsoft got Bungie they had decided to go with FPS.
Game size does not dictate how good a game is. Looking at last generation i remember an article that was pointing out this fact. They were dealing with xbox 1 and how Halo 2 took up about 5 gigs where as Rallisport Challenge 2 took up 7+ gigs even though it was an earlier and graphically inferior game.
