People take their phones everywhere theres more value with phones than a console you can only play at home. For Consoles price matters for most people plain & simple
If Sony's price is $499 + & Microsoft's is not that will be a good enough way to gain more interest over Sony as we saw before. Microsoft no doubt learned plenty this Generation
I hope they are prepared for the non die hard fans for not buying it altogether they will lose money regardless

It wont matter what the PS4 did like it did not matter what the PS2 did. If the price point of the PS is $499 + the casual audience (Sony will want these people buying a PS5) will not buy it. The PS2 did not matter going into PS3 FYI
Sony eventually lowered the price to something the casuals liked more. If the PS launches at $499 expect the same reaction

I imagine remasters will still happen for the older popular stuff. Especially anything online with now dead servers. But the way Microsoft is doing things is great for everything else. Make it Digital with Disc support & call it a day
