Of course as a PlayStation fan you'll realize that Sony supported crossplay way back on PS2. It's interesting though how Microsoft, who didn't want cross play even with PC enough to pass up Final Fantasy 14 and other games, wanted it so badly when Sony was outselling them 4:1 worldwide and much worse in Europe and Asia.
Hmm, that's interesting because you seem to confirm that Sony is skipping E3's in this article about Sony not attending... that seems a bit contradictory.
I agree choice is important, that's why it was so crazy when my fellow xbox gamers and all mighty Phil (in Phil we trust) wanted to force cross-play onto PlayStation who didn't want it. Can you believe PlayStation even said much the same thing about protecting their users and kids.
But i'm sure you'll agree, being the huge PlayStation fan we all know you are.
It's much bigger than E3 and there were tons of great announcements the best trailers were clearly Forspoken, Splithead and Horizon Zero Dawn from a graphical standpoint.
I think E3 needs to make some major changes if they want to keep up with Game Awards.
And at least Game Awards is about the games unlike E3 which is just about publishers spending money to convince people they are better than the other publishers.
I don't think Konami really matters. Psychological horror is a genre of it's own, "Silent Hill" is just a name.
And IMHO the people who made the game are more important than the name, Besides, many people would argue the Silent Hill games after the original Japanese team stopped making them aren't really Silent Hill anyway. (I would agree)
It seems like they must be on the short list and not just for gaming, prior to gaming they did a lot of advertising work.
But at the end of the day it's up to Ember Labs to decide if they want to be bought, they have been their own boss and been successful up till now, and it's reasonable for them to want to continue like that. I'd like to see them join, of course, but it's not up to me.
I think the issue is how you react anytime anyone says anything that doesn't put Microsoft on the pedestal that you seem to think they deserve to be on.
Maybe, but look at the list of games they have worked on. It's a pretty notable increase to the game production workforce.
And if you're going to go the day after, why not go the day before? And if you're not going the day after for a reason, why not just announce some random Wednesday...
I feel like it's safe to assume that at this level of business, there is a plan behind an announcement like this.
Why not announce this the day before Game Awards instead of the day after? Sony's marketing is real weird, but I do prefer it to that other company that is constantly in your face with half-truths and exaggeration. Though I doubt it's as effective with the masses.
Edit:
It seems like Sony is trying to increase game output by being able to have agile teams that can assist with projects so the main teams can...
