I don't think Call of Duty would work in that model.
Fans get restless and bored of the same maps and modes.
They NEED the new release each year (or at least constant DLC to give them something new).
I played Call of Duty for Modern Warfare 3 and couldn't make it a year... Same with Black Ops 2.
I get burnt out too quickly. Not enough content.
And somehow I missed the most obvious one...
Book Club
Female lead character?
Who wants to play Grand Theft Laundry or Red Dead Lasagna?
Actually... I kind of do.
What about the new Sega console that will be out between now and then?
GT8 comes out 2 months after GT7 because of how easy it is to make games for PS4.
It happens.
Hell, I even SOLD games early by mistake once.
I worked at Toys R Us a few years back.
Boxes were opened and things were tossed in a cart. I was told to toss them into security cases and put them out.
Turns out that one of the games was an Alvin and the Chipmunk's DS game that wasn't due out til the following week.
Oh well.
It was on the shelf. We had to honor it.
We found out when we scann...
Jaffe is likely still working on MotorGun... It was cancelled on Kickstarter, but I'm sure he's still working on it.
I agree that things will eventually go all-digital.
I think that if you want to transition that way and have the DRM in place, you'll need to offer incentives.
Why should a digital copy of a game that I can't resell or give to a friend cost the same amount as a physical copy that I can trade into Gamestop or sell on CraigsList when I'm done with it?
They need to reward gamers for making a sacrifice and going the all-digital route.
...
I just really want a Domino's pizza app on my PS4 to show up that Pizza Hut one over on Xbox 360 (and probably XBone).
Domino's is cheaper and offers more choices with continually changing menus, where Pizza Hut hasn't released anything innovative in a few years and has only had 2 major hits (stuffed crust and cheesy bites pizzas)
It's a perfect metaphor for the PS4 vs XBone debate.
Is it normal to be disappointed they won't be showcasing the PS2 version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2014?
Not a big deal in my opinion...
Still need the disc in the system to play so can't just grab the external and leave to play somewhere else. You'll need the physical media, too.
500 GB should be plenty for games.
Once you get done with a game, delete the image, but keep the save data.
Are there that many people who ACTIVELY switch between that many different games?
I know I typically switch between 2 or 3. Then as I get bored with or beat one, ad...
In all honesty, you always want there to be a SLIGHT shortage.
Otherwise you end up with consoles just sitting on the shelves.
The longer the shortage you have, the more time there is to come out with new games to sell with the console once it comes back in stock.
To some retailers, this is better.
Good to see 27 agrees and 0 disagrees on this.
Absolutely the truth.
Only wheel I ever used was the Sega Saturn Arcade Racewheel.
Still have it.
I would consider a wheel for PS4 with the driving games coming out, but I would want a nice wheel that has the force feedback, just from the comments I'm reading on here.
Is it really bias if the PS4 is the better console anyway?
Most gamers I know are leaning towards the PS4 and feeling it is better, even those on Xbox360 this generation.
I still have my PSX... 5001 sitting in a tote under my bed
I'm glad to see that Amazon is taking sing ups for the third round.
I kind of wish there was a way to sign up though...
Sony will win NA and Japan.
EU may be another issue since MS is bundling FIFA in. That's a HUGE selling point there.
It comes down to delivers on the games and the service.
Mandatory PS Plus for online is new and might scare people away. They're used to that concept from MS though.
Once Sony can prove to everyone that its service is worth paying for (which with 60 games per year, it is), they'll be on top everywhere.
The best part for a lot of people is that they will hold the pre-orders until December 13th, giving you plenty of time to make those payments and utilize that layaway system... still pick it up before Christmas!
Too soon
