I never thought about it like that before, but your absolutely right. How long are we all going to have to wait before the PS3 acually delivers on the goods. I agree that they are FINALLY starting to come around, but it still has a long way to go.

I dont like Sony, but I think the games they are getting to be more on point. Granted, they continue to get sloppy seconds from 360, but this only matters if your a 360 owner. If you havent played Fight Night Rd 3 yet, and you have a PS3, then I would recommend that you pick it up. Same could be said for Oblivion or Saints Row.
Sony still shot itself in the foot, as far as price and lack of games during launch, but the games are coming around.

Who cares? Of course Halo is getting the royal treatment. It is the right up there with the biggest franchises OF All TIME. If this title was multi-platform, I feel that it would dethrone GTA as the best selling game, period.
And let me just say this: If the quality of the product still mangages to kick ass, then whats the problem. I admit that I'm alittle worried about this movie they are trying to push, but books and action figures? Not a problem at all......
I, for one, didnt think Sony would plummet so fast. I swear, as much of a fan of XBox as I am, deep down inside I still felt that Sony would come out on top in consoles sold. This doesnt mean it will nessessarily be the most profitable, although it helps. Now I can almost GUAREENTEE that Microsoft will make a healthy profit from the 360, where Sony has a great chance of failure, at least in terms of profit margin.

Nevertheless, Blu-Ray is the winning format right now, and this is the ONLY REASON that Sony hasnt lost all hope whatsoever. I know that there are alot of 3rd party developers that are still riding with Sony...

How can you justify bumping the price up in a country that happens to have a smaller population then the U.S. or Japan? I know XBox was straight across the board.
This is just bad marketing for Sony, and there is no other way to cut it. If this continues, it wont be so much the other consoles defeating Sony, but Sony defeating itself. Ouch.
I make right around 30 grand a year. Because of this, I can afford to upgrade my hardware if I wanted to on the regular. I dont know about the rest of you, but the original XBox had run its course. Microsoft knew this, and they were willing to make a decision to move on.
If Microsoft had made money off the original XBox, and was still seeing profits from it, this would be a completely different story. Due to the lead in hardware sales already, and having suffecient hardware...

I dont even know why people are getting so upset over this. It's not a new console, it's an improved version of the 360. It will still play all 360 games, and as far as gaming is concerned, it will have the exact same ammount as your standard 360.
I would only be upset if there were exclusive titles for this new box. Then I think we could all scream foul play. Until then, all this means nothing except better equipment.

.....and although 10 years is alittle far fetched, the PS2 is alive and kicking at year 6 of its console life. Sony does let fans enjoy a console that does provide longevity, and thats pretty impressive in the world of electronics.
Still, the PS3 is alittle different, and I think Sony will acually lose money with this console by the time its said and done.
Sony right now is banking on the success of the PlayStation name, and its the only reason that its done "decent" in some circles. You see, Sony is in a different kind of battle this time out.
