It matters because Everyone likes to stay updated and not get hate for having old things everyone wants to have new games for the new consoles... for an example no one wants a old playstation 1 game with terrible graphics on a Bran new Ps4 because they would just get alot of hate and you should know that no one likes to be made fun of.
