Great interview with the team that did a sterling job on the remake!
That video of the guy playing that guitar as "Raiden", flipping awesome. Wow.
I can kick myself for not asking about the spectator mode! I agree, as I said in the article - if this doesn't have a spectator mode, its really not going to work for eSports. Learn the lesson from Battlefield 3.
One thing that always pops into my mind on this subject - do you really need attempted rape and scantily clad woman to make a great game - No, you don't, imho - and if you have to resort to that to sell the game, I think you're desperately trying to sell a crap game.
Its interesting what they did...in game protest action. Nice :)
BLAH BLAH BLAH, internet spaceships :D
Gameloft are producing it and they make pretty decent games. Lets hold thumbs its decent.
"Diablo 3 Swallows the Spider to Catch the Fly" - Great article and really clever headline. That was my favourite. Some nice reads there.
Hmm, seems we all want to "jack in". Fearless.
Ever played Cyberpunk. Cranial jack into "The NET". Oh yeah. Then again, it could end up being GodTM, creating a game so addictive because virtual life is much more interesting that real life. That could also happen :)
Lola, well done on having a stab at a very difficult topic. There is so much on this and its a very scary new frontier for our species. Access to information faster = faster ability to solve problems. Will we solve the problem of the human race and invent our superiors? At least superior access to information will stop people from being able to build empires based on hoarding information (yeah, I bet you can think of a couple of examples of those b****ds)!
I think you cannot ignore the fact that more and more is going digital, which should rightly drive the cost of the content down as we avoid expensive printing, shipping and shelving costs. Hehe, the reduction in air freighting games all over the world should help that carbon footprint thing.
Thanks for the honest opinion, Han. I think a lot of people are wanting this game to be uber because it promised to break the conventions of MMO with the "no levelling up", but sometimes the lesson is: "If it ain't broken, don't fix it". The other dissapointment was your comments about the lack of background on the characters and lack of customisation for toons. That's not good for an MMO, people want to have characters that the can feel a connection with, seei...
Quite right. MOAR original content...NO MORE SEQUELS PLEASE!!!!!!
My first game would have NOTHING to do with ponies, that's for sure. Enough ponies - Skyrim mod, then a pony level in D3 stopppppiiitt! :)
Its happening everywhere, especially in the name of "targetted" advertising. Lets not forget the Gmail Man, so its not just mobile phones. So often we trade convenience for privacy.
Great choice for a F2P, Han. Sure, its only to level 20, same as games like WOW and DDO, but its still worth the while. Look forward to next week's pick as well. Good idea, I've wasted a lot of time downloading rubbish.
I still prefer Black Ops, but you are right World at War wasn't all bad :D
My worst ending of all time was Homefront (that I can remember, that is). I hate games that end in meaningless cliff hangers and its more infuriating when he game is too short in addition to the lame ending. I'm thinking of Call of Duty as well, except Black Ops...that was a pretty clever ending.
I am really really excited at the prospect of this game coming out. I used to play the pen and paper Cyberpunk RPG game and I loved it (glad the chairman of R Talsorian Games is involved!), so to get the opportunity play the video game is going to be a great opportunity to do some reminiscing of the early 90's. Plus, I am also a fan of the William Gibson novels that pretty much put this genre on the map.
