the fact that the ps4 is 50% more powerful has left ms nowhere to go, the casuals don't want a 500$ tv remote and gamers don't want a gimped console and the fact that ms wants gaming on a 24hr lockdown doesn't help, steam box wont be using direct x. ps4 wont be using direct x. where are all these direct x games going to come from, I would go as far as to say pc gamers should embrace the new steam os it might be your only chance to escape the forced os upgrades and the 5 year waits...
Xbox fans have already given up all hope, that's why there's so many, but it doesn't matter that the resolution is 720p its all about the gameplay, when your favorite games look like a pixelated mess on the screen of course your going to look at how great the gameplay is

to get games to run at 60 fps usually requires it to run a lot higher then 60fps, fps dip a lot depending on what's happening on screen. if you have your game at 88 fps during slow action and 35 fps during heavy action sequences and your game is heavy action based it would be best to lock this game to 30 fps for consistency, the reason why car games can hit the 60 fps is they don't have these crazy dips in fps that other genres have like call of duty/etc etc, you can control the game ...
