It depends on what the individual game wants to accomplish. Games like Battlefield I'd rather them focus on multiplayer but games like BioShock which are more story driven shouldn't need to worry about multiplayer.

I'm glad Dirt3 has more Rally events in it. Dirt2 was fun but had to much of an X-Games alternative sports vibe than a racing game vibe.
