I'd love to see Dreams get an update with anisotropic filtering at x16. That's always really glaring in these games people make. Pretty impressive stuff overall though.
Didn't the leak specifically say it had new voice actors?
No those top 100 will be all that it launches with and they will then add games to the bc list much like X1 did. The end goal is that everything will end up being bc in the end. Nothing in this update changes the initial 100 approach to BC which is why they are being evaluated one game at a time. It will be a slow drip of BC.
Everyone is glossing over the fact that it's still not right away. They are still starting out at 100 and working to make them all BC. This update doesn't change that. They are going one game at a time and making sure it works just like the X1 did with 360 BC.
Just a GPU that compares right now is damn near $1000. Factor in the NVMe M.2 ssd and with specs that match and you are $1400 in are missing the other 75% of your components.
Maybe if you aren't good at basic math
@codycoop2132
The percentage is irrelevant. Would you rather have 33% of $100 or 18% of $10,000
@mrsolidsteel20 The XSX runs CPU and GPU at fullpower the entire time.
lol I love when people say that. I'd love for everyone out there to take their lemon pc's that can't run anything and the fastest SSD on the market into it. I think they'll be surprised to find out that it still can't run shit, it just lets them know sooner that they can't run it.
@VER1ON The CPU running all out would not allow the GPU to run at MAX.
@RazzerRedux It does when it correlates to draw. If the Cpu running all out means the GPU is held back then that GPU will rarely hit it's full potential. Let's be real here. We all know those clock speeds are a recent push by Sony to close the number gap which is why Cerny himself mentioned the 10% drop. PS5 number represents an absolute MAX that will rarely be hit (if ever) while XSX is a sustai...
You see it every day.....
@codycop only 10gigs is available for going on PS5 compared to 13.5gigs on XSX
There are no plans at all for it. They would have mentioned it in their deep dive of the console.
The question mark would be that SSD, Retail on that SSD based on today's pricing would be ridiculously expensive. As of right now an off the shelf SSD at that speed doesn't even exist,
Yes XBOX RT is handled by dedicated hardware separate from the GPU
This is direct from the Ray Tracing section of the Digital Foundry article
"Without hardware acceleration, this work could have been done in the shaders, but would have consumed over 13 TFLOPs alone," says Andrew Goossen. "For the Series X, this work is offloaded onto dedicated hardware and the shader can continue to run in parallel with full performance. In other words, Se...
hard to get off the shelf parts that don't exist yet lol
This game was awesome. So satisfying the way the robots broke into pieces.
@RazzerRedux
Not expensive? $80 to $100 for a 512GB drive is absurd based on other mediums and essentially useless with game sizes these days. You pretty much have to go at least 1TB so you are looking at minimum $130 for bottom of the barrel and as you work towards 2TB they get absolutely ridiculous in pricing. Not to mention a lot of NVMe doesn't get up to 4.8GB/s let alone the 6GB/s that the compression block allows for. Most fall in the 2.5GB/s to 3.5GB/s which mea...
@isarai for a standard 1tb NVMe drive now you are already paying $150 off the shelf. Their price may fall in that range. It is also $40 to $50 for a housing right now.
They keep releasing these on PS4 only and they keep failing miserably.
