Why can't devs work on new IP's, seriously. I'm so sick of thew whole, "This is it, we finished the fight, it's over." There's practically no closure with video games anymore. Halo Reach was supposed to be the end but of course Microsoft has to milk that cow to death. Gears of War 3 was supposed to be the end, but oh.. Microsoft definitely can't allow that.
Just finish the damn story and move on.

I don't get why people are disagreeing with you. It's true, there's not much Nintendo can do for existing users. Sure, the thing definitely is dumb looking, it's not going to sell well, developers aren't going to utilize it to the fullest extent but it's all Nintendo can do for now (Even though they absolutely shouldn't have)
Fact remains, the original Mortal Kombats were great for their time solely due to how gruesome they were. That alone doesn't make a good game. They were never solid fighting games when compared to the competition.
