Gnu/LInux on PS3 though OtherOS bootloader could do lots of things and among them is 3D graphics.

Problem is that environment was built so that using RSX wasn't possible in later firmwares (after 1.23). All 3D tasks needed to be built using only Cell B.E. and since it's pia to program on that high level nobody bothered to write any software for it outside science community. OtherOS is pretty much capable for doing everything you can do on more common personal desktop ...

SCE got what they deserved for removing OtherOS from PS3! I hope his code runs on TI-83+ Silver Edition too...

You do realize that X360 is the most pirated gaming system right now? Right? If I where you I'd still lean PS3 since it offers bang for you buck. Piracy might have negative effects but it also has positive effects too. Especially these days when less and less games get demos offered of them.

O = Open
X = eXit
Δ = Point
[] = Set

Or this is what I've always thought. I honestly don't actually know. :)

I find it weird that X is used to select and O for closing things in American/European games.

Why not to connect your computer to TV? It's easy. You're just going to need one cable if your HDTV has VGA(D-SUB) connector. Then get bluetooth keyboard and mouse and you're all set. However I must admit that I am just using usb extend cables because of the reaction times. There's just one thing and it's that it's not very comfortable to play games with keyboard and mouse on a couch if you aren't able to sit/lean there properly. :)

I think that it is obvious that it is possible to make Starcraft 2 like game for integrated gaming machines like Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. But it wouldn't work as well as on WIndows and Mac OS X. Main problem would be the control scheme and graphics. Not to mention network connectivity and ability to patch it when needed quickly.

Playstation 3 and Wii are more likely to have good control scheme since both have 3D-mouse alike devices which can be used to control stuff. X...

Yes.

I don't know how they are going to market device like this for active gamers because of the lack of content. And we all know that for this price it is not going to be something passive gamers might be getting into since they already have Wii or something...

It should read "Apple manufactured PCs branded as Macs are more powerful than generic or other branded PCs"... or something.

Halo 3 < Killzone 2

[X] It has controller which makes you look like an idiot?

... I guess Xbox 360 still doesn't get a place in this household. ...

I liked that teaser... but I wonder if there will soon be third party to this conflict especially if earth government is going to drop the support for Vektan strike forces... Sev and co. have to fight their way back to Vekta on their own...

And where are Helgan civilians evacuated? City was empty after all when they blew it up...

Apple Macintosh is closed system. But it's not entirely as strictly closed as your common gaming platforms. PS3 is closer to PC than closed gaming system. It was full PC until Sony decided to drop the support for Other OS functions and close the system down.

Gabe here wants that Sony opens their system a bit. So that it would be easier to develop, what they learn about the system is useful in future too, and it is generally about not wasting resources.

Obama doesn't hate video games. He is just trying to make parents do their jobs better. Children these days do play too much video games instead of trying to concentrating to their studies. Obama does good job here telling parents to take better care of their children by actually setting some limits for the children.

It won't be long until they just copy the program from vaio-p restore DVDs and then all personal computers running Windows can make remote connection to PS3. This feature is probably just artificially tied to vaio-p series. And there is probably nothing to prevent users running that software in any personal computer which is just running microsoft windows platform.

Case: PC isn't just one platform. It's a collection of various platforms out of which largest is mic...
