LBP2 would be pointless... it's all about DLC for LBP.

Mooks, you are right on. LBP 2 makes no sense. The nature of the game is that it will get DLC forever. No need for a 2nd edition. Hell, MM still needs to fix the mountain of bugs in the first one.
