like zone of enders (1,2), omega boost and other high speed action games (that are all beatable within half a days effort) are short games and all fun to play ... but it's up the consumers if they want to pay for that.
Yet, I enjoyed this game and continue to do so - it's hard and some of the achievements are nightmares on steroids

finished it last night, clocked in 9 hours + - fun, and yes I will replay it :D but mostly for trohpy whoring reasons. Nevertheless, I can't deny, it's fun to play.

I don't know much shooter type games that are that long anyways (it gets old too quick) i don't think the xbox had dvds had anything to do with it - it's about balance. Personally the length of the game play time (and the actual time that you spend with it) seems to be just right to me. Also, I dare any of you complete in 4 hours on hard ;).

they all agree - "damn it's good." It's usually the case you know - we tend to finish the games that we enjoy faster than does we don't and Platinum probably did this on purpose to suck us in. Let's not forget that this game fills a giant gapping hole in my gaming life that Zone of Enders left me since PS2 and Kojima refuses to fill back.
the actually recorded game play time and the time you spend in your real life on your game never add up (and the later is always longer). people are missing out on a great shooter but I agree ... this month and next is gaming month with all these titles coming out so gamers can pick and choose to their hearts content (for now).
you know when you tell your girl to make up her mind about something and she can't decides, and gives you a "yes/no" reply - this is 1up.
think this game will be a sleeper hit for the people that actually play it - the action is non stop on this and there aren't that many games I can describe like that besides Zone of Enders. Other games just form the ARS all day long in the same genre. :)

Indeed, my recorded mission time shows a low number but it took me 4 hours to complete (or real world time) to complete the stage ... seriously guys we're loosing focus - this game is the most fun I've had with a shooter since Zone of Enders - not sure what all of you are going on about the time.

anyways, as for teaching cheaters a lesson or two, a simple band from network play for a month or 3 would be nice but it would have to be based on the users machine (not their account cuz they can always make more of those)... should cramp their style for a bit.
