i did not read the article, but I have been reading through the rumor/conspiracy threads about the next generation of consoles and have come to the conclusion that move and kinect are intended to extend this generation a few years.
The economy is not what it was 5-6 years ago. I think thats the main reason for this change.

It depends how it works. I think that it could be effective if done correctly.
If they charged something like 75$ for a yearlong subscription I would probbaly do it. This would be a money saving oppurtunity for people that committ to the franchise year to year. It would save them money on DLC for sure. If they did it like EA is doing and having a code on the back of the booklet that is good for one use then it would work.

It should be better than the MOH beta I am playing right now at a quarter of the price. I bet it ships with more maps and gamemodes than MOH as well.

Gears of war was much better than Gears of War 2. Gears of war was the only exclusive I enjoyed on my Xbox when I had it. When I didnt enjoy Gears 2, I sold it to my brother.
