It is suprising how many Android games have that "Abstract" look and feel to them. This is a very good indication that indie developers are more willing to utilize the freedom of the android marketplace to experiment with game design and play mechanics.
The games shown here would likely not succeed on the AppStore against the polish of higher budget games that likely offer an inferior gameplay experience.

There are over 100,000 sources for game reviews online if you count blogs, commercial websites and magazines. Every site owner has a reason why his/her site provides game reviews. Even aggregate sites like metacritic carry a basic level of industry driven bias.
Ultimately, one needs to actually read the text of a review to find out what the accolades and shortcomings of any title are. The writers will always have a bias based on their motivation to write the review in the firs...
The unimprovable Bejeweled was already bested by Babo Crash HD on iPhone and iPad by Playbrains.
Bejeweled 3 does have some pretty cool tweaks but, IMO, I still think Babo Crash is the way to go.
