I don't really get why anyone says this. Nintendo's E3 showing was very, very strong. The problem was that it was WAY too spread out. Entire software showcases (like the 3DS dedicated presentation) had tons of awesome looking games. The Nintendo Direct before E3 detailed a whole bunch of Wii U stuff that was really excited. The details were all there, everything you wanted to hear (minus pricing and date), but it was spread too thin.
Nintendo will be just fine.
Definitely picking up NBA Jam while it's on sale, but I've already got everything else.
