For those of you who did not enjoy the game, keep in mind:
This is United Front Games' first go at a PS3 title, and in a genre not done before on the PS3. There was a lot of planning that had to go into it and the first beta "mass" released is guaranteed to have connectivity and loading problems.
But looking at the content, and the core of the game, makes me believe that this has a chance to be a great title for the PS3 home entertainment system.

Another comment.
YOU NEED A HEADSET TO PLAY THIS GAME EFFECTIVELY AND ENJOY IT. THE GAME IS SO MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE WHEN YOU CAN TALK WITH YOUR SQUADMATES.
I ALSO HIGHLY RECOMMEND JOINING A CLAN, WHICH ZIPPER HAS MADE VERY EASY.
IF YOU FEEL THERE IS A LACK OF TEAMWORK, YOU ARE TO BLAME AS WELL.
A game mode I would have loved to see especially knowing the back story after playing the beta extensively is 80 vs 80 vs 80.
80 x 3 = 240 players which is easy for Zipper to do.
This way you could have 10 squads for each faction and it would be a massive war.
A map that would hold all three factions would be incredible and an experience worth buying alone.
There would be deals between faction commanders to have one team help another, or u...
IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED/BEATEN THE FIRST TWO. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
YOU MUST BEAT THE FIRST TWO TO EVEN DISCUSS HERE.
WHAT A PERFECT TIME FOR YOU TO GO BUY AND BEAT gow AND gow2, BOTH REMASTERED IN hd (WHICH I BEAT), WHILE YOU WAIT FOR MARCH TO ROLL ITS GREEK HEAD AROUND.
ENOUGH SAID.
GAME OVER.
THE GAME WON'T MEAN AS MUCH IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED 1 OR 2
Will this work with a non-Bravia TV?
Samsung here, and would be a shame if this feature (if free) wasn't supported.
I have seen the E3 demo in motion several times. It is beautiful and smooth.
The game transitions beautifully.
Plus the game looks BETTER than the E3 demo, according to several sources.
We'll see soon enough. (February 7th, mark it down).
While I wish to believe that Jaffe is right, which he is. He's also denying the reality that is the gaming world (or what it has become).
He's saying, more or less, "games shouldn't be based on ranking systems..." when the truth is that is what motivates people.
And if he wants to keep making games, and getting paid for them, then he has to somehow give the gamer a feel of a ranking system.
Gamers today (especially new ones) need the old car...
I played the PS3 beta extensively.
Great game.
It's an INFINITY better than Modern WARDfare 2.
This is great news!
SVER will NVER die.
This game is great.
I expected it to be a 7.5 rating. I would give the beta a 9.0.
I expected MW2 to be a 9.0 rating. I gave it a 7.5.
I expected BC2 to be a 9.5 rating. Still waiting.
If your PS3 breaks twice in 4 months (essentially 4 months after initially repair) Sony should send you a new console (slim of course) no charge. Plus a game for you troubles.
That's IF it breaks twice in a short time period. Which wouldn't happen. Let alone breaking once is very very.
And the majority of the issues are probably BluRay related, which doesn't make them cheap to fix. Some repairs may actually be 'replacements' in certain parts.
Good question, may be some of both.
I want this GAME/BETA.
United Front's blog didn't give me one.
Gamespot didn't give me one.
I already own LBP.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone else frustrated!?
hahaha nice
I played the beta extensively. Got an invite early on.
Not only did they game progress but it is EASILY better than Modern Warfare 2. The is actually enjoyable to play.
Playing as Helghast would not be awesome.
They could introduce a new set of characters and build upon them. Make us feel even more sympathetic for the Helghast.
Hmm. It's interesting to see that no one has pointed out that the Android OS has a standard single-touch input while the iPhone comes ready and delivering a multi-touch experience. This makes that ever so noticeable difference when typing on a soft-keyboard.
This however is another large obstacle for developers trying to make the Android a profitable platform. Many games will use multi-touch. The Android, while it can support it, doesn't come with multi-touch unlocked. You h...
We have yet to see how GT5's more zealous tracks will look but from the looks of it, this game is brilliant.
Hopefully when I buy the game, it will be offered in a bundle with a steering wheel (manual).
This damage versus no damage debate is ridiculous.
Of course GT should have it. Not GT5, ANY future Gran Turismo.
This game is labeled by developers, fans, and critics as the ultimate experience in driving simulation.
It would be foolish for them to not have damage. I would hope they put in enough time and dedication to make it realistic, more so than Forza 3.
I'm hoping they are also smart enough to put in controls for the damage (on/of...
Xbox owners are wrong in thinking that this is in-game footage. It may be using the engine but that doesn't mean it is taken from the gameplay. And if you do add other elements, AI, weather, landscape, dynamics and the such, the graphical quality will suffer. From what I can tell the graphics don't compare to Killzone 2's graphics (even in-game graphics, let alone the CG stuff). But it is hard to say. From what I can tell, Bungie may have rushed itself a little on this game.

If 2010 is the "best year for the 360" then I am even more glad that I don't own an Xbox360.
Sadly, the lineup looks bleak and lacking of games that true gamers would enjoy. Have fun with Natal. I know "Arc" will be awful, but it doesn't matter to me. Sony isn't putting all of their eggs in the "motion control" basket.
Even if 3D doesn't take off, it's nice to have just like HD was nice to have several years ago (now it has become mo...
