I played it for a bit until I decided to stop and wait for a next gen upgrade. I don't trash it but I was definitely disappointed and can see why others would trash it.

Didn't need the comparison to know which was better, Insomniac is just a far superior developer. Such a smart acquisition by Sony cannot wait for Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine.

Well I guess at the end of the day Gearbox isn't obligated to give us anything at all. Its free so seems like on odd hill to die on but its your choice if you don't want to play it as some sort of protest.
Maybe all the hate the game received especially regarding the story had an effect. Why bother giving a portion of the game everyone claimed was garbage anyway? This allows people to get straight to the end game content and bypass that awful awful terrible bad story no one liked. This is what can happen when enough people moan and groan about something even when many of those people never had and never were going to play it anyway.
People have done nothing but claim the story is shit, this just allows people to play the end game content without dealing with the story people claim to hate anyway. Now all of sudden people are upset they can't play the story, gotta love the gaming community. That's a general comment not necessarily aimed at you so don't get mad.

Gets you straight into the end game content. Maybe that's better in the long run since all everyone does is complain about the story anyway, of course now they'll complain we're not getting the story they complain about, funny how that works.

Been done before and it doesn't work if they know how to cheat they know how to VPN route and create a new account. Brick the console and force them to get a new one every time they get caught cheating would be a better option.
