The engine is not new, and groundbreaking technology used in it is being used in most of the games for past 10 years. But these days whatever lie and garbage you say doesn't really matter because majority of call of duty players play only call of duty every year so they don't know much or have not seen much either in terms of decent graphics
If this turns out to be true on both platforms (hope not) simply I will shrink my purchases options to only those titles that I really want to play on day 1. Rest can wait once price goes down or some kinda GOTY comes out

Best solution will be simply buying those games year from the release date as GOTY editions for $40 or $60 bucks unless you planning to throw $115 at them instantly.

I don't know how it works with handhelds but here's a little tip. Never buy any used consoles (360 PS3) from gamestop. Gamestop refurbished means they just check if it turns on and if it has a seal/sticker. Besides that mos6 of the stuff they have there is either way banned or on its way out :P
It is a big deal ! They are slowly trying to monetize and dissect every aspect of the game. Cheats for sale $$$ game modes and difficulty for sale $$$
They basically advertised Ranger mode the way it meat to be played and then went " Oops sorry If you did not pre-order this game you wont get it, unless you pay extra $5 bucks later for unlock file. This is basically punishing hones consumers for fucking not pre ordering a game !!! Guess who is gonna end up completely harm...
And that's why ill buy this game used once it hits $20 price.
I'll buy it used once it hits bargain price of $20 or less, locking hardcore mode for people who did not pre order and asking $5 bucks later is a no go !
Have fun with mandatory 1 hour installation with that 2x speed PS3 drive !
It's the same in US ! I completely stopped visiting Gamestop due to the fact they have almost no deals at all, and every time somebody over there is trying to make me pre order stuff I have no interest in. It is extremely fucking annoying !
Because even at this point everybody knows its not gonna happen ? :P
At some point we gonna see $70 games with more sequels, rehashes and even more micro transactions 0_o
