The reason I resent Quick Scoping has to do with the fact that it undermines the point of a sniper rifle. And Infinity Ward seems okay with this. When TF2 treats the role of a particular gun with more respect than a team building a Military Shooter, it gives me serious pause...and makes me not want to play their game.
That's a pretty misleading title.
Also I don't believe the video game industry is out of ideas. I just think big companies don't want to take risks on things that won't sell. Plus a successful franchise it like printing money. And no one wants to buck a trend when it's making them money. Video games can't be both and art and a business. They may be entertainment, but companies want to make money.
Now if Jenova Chen's upcomin...
agreed on both counts.
I'd wager you're no brain trust, yourself, stealth500k. Of course, if you don't agree you could always, oh I don't know, get your own damn podcast.
You're forgetting the internet doesn't like to read. If you suggest a video...nine times out of ten, they'll choose the video over the text. Snark aside, we really do want people to read the article.
But you should also read the article...because it's good. Oh and yea, this post is not about GameOverThinker. Just sayin.
I think the iPhone thing is a real issue. There are probably more people out there than we'd care to admit exist who would say: "why should I pay $60 for a game I can't take anywhere when I can play a 'great' game on my iphone for a dollar"
That will end up killing the games industry as we know it.
I'll tell you what game I don't want to see as a manga: Gears of War
Cool article and great topic for discussion. I can understand a trophy/achievement that requires the highest level of patience and skill to achieve. But sometimes I think these developers are just going out of their way to make our lives miserable...because they know someone out there is going to spend hours, even days, going for that damn-near unattainable trophy.
I'm always arguing with people that PC gaming is still important to the video game industry and where it goes from here. It's not that I want the PC to dominate consoles. I just don't want to see any consoles die a slow death. More platforms = competition. And competition breeds innovation. Everybody wins.
To date, this is still one of my favorite iPhone games.
Alright, so we got an expert on "gayness" in here. Welcome to the internet, skip-o!
Fixed both errors. Thanks.
to live in?
You and me both, brother.
I'm hoping my beta key for this game comes sooner rather than later.
Always so modest, eh?
How is this not approved yet? Listen to the show, people. You'll be laughing your ass off in no time flat!
no joke
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's an intellectual property rights nightmare between the Bealtes, Apple Records, and Harmonix where the Beatles don't want their music ending up in more places than where it was purchased...especially if they don't get paid extra for it.
Certainly seemed like an enemy-seeking knife.
*shakes head* I just don't get how anyone looks at something like that as "not broken".
