"I can always dream..." > You never know. Especially in the era of remasters
Hard to answer. I think yes, because the original concept was developed as indie.
That's fair. Nothing lasts forever, and Fortnite/PUBG are definitely where it's at right now. Still Minecraft is second best selling game ever so I would have expected it to make the list out of sheer popularity

Stardew and Shovel Knight I understand, was surprised to see Celeste there! Awesome.
Prediction: it'll do very well. Look at the performance of Nintendo's other big names for Switch: MK8 Deluxe, Odyssey, Zelda BOTW. Plus did you see the reactions of those guys at the NYC Nintendo store? Crazy. This will be another system seller. They better include an adventure/story mode, was disappointed the 3DS version lacked it (I loved beating the stages on Gamecube). There'll definitely be new characters. Combat could be changed a little, but still keep the option for classi...
I am seriously hoping it's the best one in the triology
I actually like the fact we get to play as Atreus. It's not often you play as a kid in games. Typically you get young adult/adult.
It's not an actual thing? Damn. We have dogecoin so I don't see why this wouldn't also work xD
Omg. Mad respect to her she turned her life around. Well done
Not for everyone I suppose. I myself would be more interested if there was a solid single player campaign on top of the multiplayer.
True. There are many peaks in gaming evolution, it's always fascinating to watch videos of older consoles with their MB memory cards and read reviews praising graphics that are outdated by today's standards. We can't narrow it down to a single peak, there are multiple peaks for sure. Are we in a peak right now? Nintendo is. I think Sony and Microsoft will hit their next peak with PS5 and XB2
Yep. I like to stay hopeful. Agree about Microsoft too, I can't shake the feeling they don't have enough eye catching exclusives. Sea of Thieves is a good start, they need to keep going though
Yeah can see what you mean. Like if half of all releases were infinite sequels, reboots, remakes and what not, I think people would start losing interest and begin craving an original IP. Same goes for battle royale - PUBG and Fortnite are killing it right now, so I expect more developers to focus on this genre. But like everything (platformers, proc gen, open world, survival etc) it will lose its appeal eventually. Lol god of war 59? Please no hahaha
Thanks, interesting piece. I liked it.
"At no point has either company really tried to innovate or change the way people play video games"
> I think there is some innovation eg dualshock 4 touch pad, Switch being both a portable and home system. Xbox One /X hasn't innovated in the same dimension. But it's got the best processing power/graphics from my understanding
"I feel we are hitting that peak where the p...
A miser even in the afterlife, ey? Seems like a good way to discourage dying I guess
Microtransactions resurface!
Still got to play them tbh. Maybe when Square Enix has another sale haha. I enjoyed the reboot a lot too
Whether someone likes or dislikes SoT is totally subjective. Some incomplete games are still good, in others, you can feel the emptiness and boredom. Console loyalty might be blinding people to some degree, but if they genuinely enjoy it good for them. I think it's ok. It's an ambitious idea that's not perfect but kudos to Rare for taking this step
Same. I liked both Heavy Rain/Beyond TS gameplay so if it's similar then no problem. Some changes obviously to stop it from getting stale. Too cheesy/sentimental?
