Controller aside, it seems like the current gen unlike other generation is not defined by its advancement in technology. So if a company was to release a Genesis level console and sell it for $10 and it ended up selling more than the current consoles combined, would that be the leader of this gen?

I am a confirmed fps whore ever since playing the original wolfenstein, total hooked since doom. became a pc upgrade every six months. Thankfully I am recovering from that more to spend on the PS3 and 360

an embedded via chrome chipset can run cysis., It is not the same as running it on an an ati 4800 series or a nvidia GTXX is it.
Pennywise you have failed to mention that there are certain things the PS3 does differently than the 360 that negate its extra banwidth. AA through EDram not main memory. Z-buffer through daughter chip, not main memory. no back buffer. All save sh^t load of bandwidth

Who is the source of this info. They make a claim then do not source it. I see no link to the SCEA quote. Not saying it is false, but it would be nice to know where they are getting this from, especially from a not well known site. add credibility

Why do people always try to incclude RROD number in sales/shipped. When you returned your 360 you set the same serial number back, the same 360 ID/ the same case. Whow are the RROD counted. The RROD are not 'shipped' for sale.

Nintendo never said they were abandoning the hardcore for the casual market. That is the point. It would be different if they did, at least we would know where we stood. You to appreciate that nintendo has stuck two fingers up at the people who made them what they are. Do they owe anything? yes. Hardcore gamers will buy games no matter what. Casual gamer see his more as a luxury.
Again, I am not against the wii, just the fact that amoung all the shovelware, nintendo has put a little or no effort into the hardcore sector.
I had two consoles that gathered dust. The PS3 in the early days(sort so it gets love now) and the wii after 2 weeks (too many games, vast majority being shovelware. I did myself a favour and gave it to my nieces where it would be put to better use. Even they now want a 360.
